Foothill Conservancy Work Day: Oak Hill Community Park, December 10
Help prepare a site for an American Chestnut Restoration Orchard on December 10 at the Foothill Conservancy’s Oak Hill Community Park and Forest, Morganton, NC. Four hundred trees will be planted the next day. Volunteers should arrive by 9:30am. Tools, water, and lunch will be provided. Dress appropriate for the weather. Wear work shoes and gloves. Bring your own snacks and drinking water. Bring a shovel. Bring a face mask to wear when required. Directions from US 70, Carbon City Boulevard: At Independence Boulevard, travel .08 miles north and turn left onto Freedom Drive. Travel 1.5 miles west to 807 NC 126 to a gravel driveway.
