RESMAP Volunteer Day – Penn State University

Volunteers inoculate 6-month old seedlings using the alternate small stem assay method.

What:  RESMAP Data Collection Volunteer Day
When: Friday, October 8th, 9:00 AM-4:00 PM (or until finished)
Where: Shadehouse of the Forest Resources Lab, University Park, PA 16802 (Use 206 Forest Resources Lab for navigation.)

Description: After being inoculated on July 10, 2021 we will be taking canker length measurements on 600+ seedlings. This will involve tracking individual trees, measuring & recording canker length from the point of inoculation, and documenting things of interest. This is part of a large project across four additional locations. The seedlings will be planted in the spring of 2022 for continued monitoring and secondary screening.
