January 21 @ 11:30 am - 12:30 pm
Join us Friday, January 21 at 11:30 AM (EST) for the next LIVE Chestnut Chat: Evolution of the Genus Castanea. Taylor Perkins, research associate, University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC), will present a high-level view of evolution and migration of the genus Castanea across the world, starting in China and moving finally into the United States. Taylor has been studying the relationships and divergence of chinkapin and chestnuts in the eastern U.S. for over a decade. Working with Dr. Hill Craddock at UTC, he was recently awarded a TACF external grant to further delve into the mysteries of Ozark chinkapin origin.
